HOW YOU LEARN“WHAT WILL IT FEEL LIKE DAY TO DAY?”

University, but not only lectures.

You’ll learn the theory. And then you’ll have to use it — because knowing something and being able to make something are not the same thing.

LEARN

Foundations & craft

Academic foundations and the specialised skills your discipline needs.

MAKE

Build real things

Games, prototypes, art, animation and portfolio work — from Year 1.

WORK TOGETHER

Like a real team

Designers, programmers and artists collaborate the way game studios do.

GET FEEDBACK

From the industry

Reviews from lecturers and professionals already working in games.

GAME JAM / CLASS COLLABORATION

THREE YEARS OF PROGRESS “HOW WILL I DEVELOP?”

You won't build the same things in Year 1 and Year 3.

YEAR 01

Learn the foundations

Explore the discipline, learn the tools and build your first real projects.

YEAR 02

Go deeper

Bigger projects, more complex briefs and collaboration across disciplines.

YEAR 03

Build towards what's next

Specialise, strengthen your portfolio and prepare for industry.

People who teach you “Who will actually teach me?”

Learn from people who actually make games.

Industry in the experience “How close is this to the real games industry?”

The games industry isn't something you meet after graduation.

You meet it throughout the programme, not as a logo wall, but as real activities.

IN CLASS

Guest lecturers

Working professionals come into the classroom, not just for one talk.

Student voices “What do people like me say after they start?”

Don't take our word for it.

“The hardest part of Year 1 was learning to work as a team.”

Student · Game Engineering · Year 2

“I made a game people can actually play.”

Student · Game Design

“I arrived without a portfolio. Now I have one.”

Student · Computer Arts

International, close to home “Why study here instead of going abroad?”

An international education doesn't have to start with leaving home.

FAQ “Can I get a straight answer?”

You're probably wondering…

No. Game Engineering starts from the foundations. You need curiosity and willingness to learn, not prior experience.

Start with what you enjoy — designing, building or creating visuals. Use the path finder, or talk to us and we’ll help you decide.

You need interest and potential, not a finished portfolio. Many students arrive without formal art training and build a portfolio here.

Yes — the degree is issued by Abertay University. ECHO School hosts and supports the programmes here in Bucharest.

The programmes are built around the skills studios look for, and you meet the industry throughout. Career paths are listed on each programme page.

Fees and current scholarship options are on the Fees & Scholarships page. ECHO offers scholarships to support access.

Tell us your situation during admissions — there are recognised ways to demonstrate your English level. We’ll walk you through it.

Maybe this is for you.

And maybe you still have questions. That’s completely normal. Explore the programmes, come meet us, or talk to the admissions team.
