Step Inside Game Development

Thursday, 6 October 2026
18:30–20:00
ECHO School · Bulevardul Dacia 99, 3rd Floor, Bucharest

What does studying game development actually look like?

Not just the subjects on the curriculum, but the projects, feedback, teamwork, challenges and everyday experience behind them.

At ECHO Open Doors, you can explore how learning works at ECHO by meeting the lecturers who teach here and the students currently experiencing it.

Come with your curiosity and all the questions you want to ask.

Meet the Lecturers

You’ll meet lecturers from each of the three disciplines:

George Munteanu
Computer Arts & Animation

Gabriel Stancu
Game Design & Development

Vlad Anghelar
Game Engineering

They’ll share how each discipline works, what students learn and create, and how feedback and collaboration shape the learning process.

You’ll also hear about their experience as industry professionals and the connection between what happens in class and the realities of game development.

Hear the Student Perspective

Theo Filotti and Nina Florea, both currently in Year 3, will talk openly about:

  •  why they chose game development;
  •  what studying at ECHO has been like;
  •  the projects they have created;
  •  collaboration, feedback and student life;
  •  the challenges they encountered;
  •  what they discovered about themselves along the way.

No polished version of the “perfect student experience”. Just an honest conversation with people living it now.

Who Is Open Doors For?

This event is for:

  • high school students exploring game development;
  • young people interested in art, design, programming or technology;
  • parents who want to understand this study path more clearly;
  • professionals considering a new direction in game development;
  • anyone curious about how games are actually created and how you can learn to create them.

You don’t need to know which discipline is right for you yet. Open Doors is a chance to explore the options, meet the people behind them and begin finding your own direction.

Learn by Making

At ECHO, students learn through practical projects, interdisciplinary collaboration and continuous feedback from lecturers with direct industry experience.

The three-year undergraduate programmes are delivered in Bucharest, in English, in academic partnership with Abertay University.

Open Doors gives you the chance to experience the community, ask honest questions and see whether this could be the right place for you.
